Group Exercise Directions
Now that you have learned about how to evaluate a website, you will work in a group to use the process to evaluate an individual website by filling out a CARRDSS Website Evaluation Tutorial form. Your group will then rank the sites fom best to worst and report the results to the class.
1. Get into groups of 4 as directed by your teacher.
2. Your teacher will assign your group a number (1-7).
3. Group members should decide who is going to evalute each individual site (each group topic has 4 sites).
4. Fill out the CARRDSS evaluation form as you read through the website. Make sure to fill out the form completely.
5. When all group members are finished evaluating individual sites, you and your group should rank the websites from best to worst using the grades you gave the websites on the CARRDSS form.
6. The group should pick a spokesperson to report the results of the discussion to the class.
7. The spokesperson should be able to explain the details reasons why a site was the best or worst one in their list. He or she should use the language from the tutorial ("the site is credible because..., the site was biased...for example...).
